Workair Predictions for 2021

7 January, 2021

As we leave behind the most unpredictable of years the effect of Covid-19 on society, the economy and global commerce has meant that the world of business communications has evolved at an accelerated rate. As a result of this ‘new normal’ businesses have changed how they interact and communicate with their clients and employees forever. Being catapulted into the world of remote working has given way to the age of the ‘Smart Business Phone System’.

By Stephen Mackarel, Managing Director of Workair

The economy will recover faster than expected.
There have been sustained periods of economic growth after previous monetary and fiscal stimuli by Central Banks and Governments. The stimuli to counter the pandemic have far outweighed any past economic packages (20% of all the dollars currently in circulation were ’printed’ in 2020!).

How companies interact with customers and employees has changed forever.
Companies will embrace Smart Business Phone Systems. Customers can choose which method (phone, messaging, video, twitter, email, etc) to engage on AND employees will expect to be able to collaborate and work remotely. Workair provide all the global leaders in Smart Business Phone Systems and advise, install, integrate and support all these solutions.

The term ‘Smart Business Phone System’ will become ‘The Norm’ in 2021.
In 2007 the ‘new term’ was ‘smart mobile phone’ – when Nokia were overtaken by Apple and Android. Now traditional business phone system suppliers – like NEC, Alcatel, Siemens, Cisco – (will all join Panasonic by announcing their withdrawal from the business phone system market) – will be overtaken by companies like 8×8, Avaya Cloud Office, RingCentral, Vonage, LogMeIn, Fuze and Dialpad (all Workair partners) who supply Smart Business Phone Systems.

Moving to the cloud will be a cost reduction necessity.
Companies will reduce CapeX and OpeX by migrating to cloud SaaS cost structures. 74% of companies now operate some systems in the cloud (MS365 being the lead) and will move more and more solutions to the cloud .

Buying local and supporting Irish businesses.
Supporting local businesses will become more important in the decision making process.

The technology is here. The time is now. Don’t get left behind.
